We were CURLING before we were CANADA!
Founded in 1847, our club is one of the oldest in the country!
On December 10, 1847 a group of businessmen got together and formed the London Curling Club. Over the next 50+ years they curled on ice at The Coves, on the Thames River and Lake Horn, a small pond in the area of Richmond and Picadilly. They moved to Western Fair’s Crystal Palace, which burned down in 1913. In 1915, the club purchased the Jubilee Skating Rink on Lyle Street, where we still curl today in this remarkable historic building that continues to evolve while we envision our future.
